Optical bonding is a technique that eliminates the air gap between the display panel and the safety glass, enabling the display to significantly increase the image contrast for exceptional outdoor performance. It improves the readability of the display in direct sunlight by dramatically reducing reflections which occur at each air / glass interface. By using an adhesive gel with the same refractive index as the glass it effectively forms a no -reflective layer above the display. It also prevents the entry of moisture and the subsequent formation of condensation between panel and glass.
